Job summary

Semex is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Production Team at our Guelph location. This on-site role reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and focuses on ensuring top-quality dairy and beef genetics products through rigorous QC testing and equipment maintenance.

Key duties include conducting morphology, bacteriology, and motility tests, monitoring lab conditions, and documenting non-conformances for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in science, agriculture, or biotechnology preferred.
• Experience in quality control.
• Experience working in a production facility is an asset.
• Agricultural experience is an asset.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Problem-solving abilities.
• Analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are currently looking for a passionate and engaged Quality Control Technician to fill a vacancy and join our Production Team. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor this role will be responsible for ensuring our production process produces the highest quality products from our industry-leading genetics that are used on farms for healthy dairy and beef herds around the world.

Work Location & Minimum Pay Rate

This is an in-person role requiring on-site attendance five days per week at our Guelph location. Regular hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with every third week the shifts being 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This position offers a starting wage of $23.00/hour with potential compensation enhancements based on applicable experience and qualifications.
