Qualifications
Minimum
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality control/assurance management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Quality Management, CWB Inspector or Welding Certification, Engineering degree
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), statistical process control (SPC), and quality assurance tools
- Welding and Blueprint knowledge
- Ability to develop Weld Procedures
Preferred
- Advanced degree preferred
- Welding Supervisor Certification
- Experience with Steel Fabrication
- Experience with technical writing
Responsibilities
- Quality Management System (QMS) Oversight:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Perform internal audits and assessments to monitor QMS effectiveness and identify areas for improvement within the QMS
- Ensure classification compliance is upheld
- Perform External audits with Classification/ Certification Authorities
- Quality Assurance and Control:
- Establish quality control procedures and inspection plans to verify product conformity and adherence to specifications
- Oversee welder certification processes and training requirements
- Review and approve quality documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and non-conformance reports
- Manage non-conformances within the company, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented; act as liaison between the company and customer/regulatory bodies
- Supplier Quality Management:
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to resolve supplier quality issues and improve supply chain reliability
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Lead and participate in projects to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing processes
- Utilize quality data and metrics to drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and foster a culture of quality excellence
