About Our Client

On behalf of our client, a reputable road construction company operating as a municipal contractor on large road & highway projects in Ontario, we are hiring an experienced Laboratory Manager in Guelph, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform design and quality control/assurance on laboratory and field projects including aggregate production, concrete, asphalt, and field density programs.
2. Evaluate project specifications to ensure compliance.
3. Assist in setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of production processes.
4. Test road construction materials such as asphalt concrete pavement and granular base.
5. Mentor junior technologists to develop their skills.
6. Collaborate with supervisory personnel to ensure quality standards.
7. Maintain a database for all test results.
8. Ensure timely and accurate communication and documentation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or relevant experience.
• 8+ years of related materials testing experience, including aggregate and asphalt; candidates with concrete experience or less may also be considered.
• Fundamental understanding of road construction materials and practices.
• Minimum Class 5 Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
