Job summary

DEW Engineering and Development ULC in Canada is hiring a Quality Control Inspector to verify materials, components, and finished products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements for military and defence applications.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will perform quality testing, document results, read and interpret GD&T drawings, and help drive corrective actions to prevent non-conformities.

Qualifications

  • 5 years previous experience as a Quality Inspector.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of welding and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T requirements and manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience with CMM programming and dimensional inspection methods.
  • Knowledge of calibration requirements and control of measuring and test equipment.
  • ISO 9001 internal auditing experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect materials, components, and finished products to ensure conformance with quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with Production and Project Managers to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Seek guidance for complex quality matters as needed.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with team to complete inspections on time and accurately.
  • Recommend improvements to quality-related processes and controls.
  • Perform inspections on DEW products as required.

Quality Control Inspector:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Control Inspectoris responsible for inspecting andverifying materials, components, andfinished products to ensure conformance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements for militaryand defence applications.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with corporate and ISO standards
  • Coordinate with Production and Project Managers to ensure quality requirements are met
  • Seek independent interpretation and guidance when required for process-related quality matters
  • Maintain accurate and complete quality records
  • Collaborate with the team to complete inspections accurately and on time
  • Recommend improvements to quality-related processes and controls
  • Perform inspections on DEW products as required

Initiate and follow up on actions to prevent non-conformities related to products, services, processes, and the quality system

Identify and document issues related to products, services, processes, and the quality system

Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions taken to resolve quality issues

Control non-conforming product until the non-conformance is resolved

General Requirements:
  • Travel as required
  • Comply with all environmental, health and safetyrequirements and follow the environmental and quality management systems
Qualifications:
  • 5 years previous experience as a Quality Inspector
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of welding and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T requirements and manufacturing drawings

Experience with CMM programming and dimensional inspection methods

Knowledge of calibration requirements and control of measuring and test equipment

ISO 9001 internal auditing experience is considered an asset
