Job summary

Jim Dent Construction is seeking a temporary Quality Control Field Inspection Assistant to support a project in the Castlegar area of the West Kootenays BC. This entry‑level role offers field experience in construction quality control and inspections.

You will assist with field inspections, document inspection results, and support the project team with basic administration. Training, onboarding, and Fall Arrest instruction are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Comfortable performing outdoor field work in canal environments.

• Availability to work day and night shifts if required.
• Basic administrative or document control awareness is a plus.

We are currently seeking a temporary Quality Control Field Inspection Assistant to support a project in the Castlegar area of the West Kootenays BC. This opportunity is well suited for students, recent graduates, or entry-level professionals looking to gain hands-on field experience in construction quality control and inspections.

The successful candidate will be someone comfortable with a fast pace & dynamic environment. They will be able to adapt well under pressure, be self-motivated and take direction well. Being a team player and having strong communication skills is a must. Successful candidates will assist with field inspections along canal areas to help verify that construction work is being completed according to inspection requirements and project procedures. This role involves outdoor field work, documentation, and working closely with the project team. No extensive technical experience is required. Training will be provided, including onboarding, site orientation, and Fall Arrest training prior to starting field work.
