Job summary

Epiroc is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Val-d’Or-based team. This on-site role requires inspecting and testing equipment to meet quality standards before delivery, with emphasis on CSA and UL approvals.

The position entails establishing standards, ensuring electrical code compliance, and contributing to safety and process improvements within our production environment.

Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in the electrical field.
  • Class C electrician’s licence or qualification as an electrician.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes including mine-specific standards.
  • Knowledge of CSA and UL standards and approvals.
  • Ability to analyze problems, make decisions, and work independently or in a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect products and perform the required tests before delivery.
  • Test industrial control panels and ensure CSA/UL compliance.
  • Establish and apply internal manufacturing standards and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
  • Investigate issues, identify causes and propose solutions.
  • Suggest improvements to work methods and quality control processes.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and standards.

Quality Control Technician

Location: Val-d’Or – On-site
Schedule: 40 hours per week -5/2 or 4/3

The Quality Control Inspector ensures that manufactured products meet Epiroc’s quality standards. They inspect and test equipment before delivery and ensure that industrial control panels are tested and approved in accordance with applicable standards.

Main responsibilities and duties
  • Inspect products and perform the required tests before delivery;
  • Test industrial control panels and ensure they meet CSA approval requirements;
  • Establish and apply internal manufacturing standards and procedures;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards;
  • Investigate issues, identify their causes and recommend solutions;
  • Suggest ongoing improvements to work methods and quality control processes;
  • Follow health and safety procedures and standards.
Qualifications
