Job summary

Epiroc Val-d'Or location is seeking a Lead Hand - Mobile Equipment Mechanic to support the Mechanical Supervisor in planning and assigning work. Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a mine mobile equipment mechanic.
• Heavy equipment technician licence and OCOT (Ontario College of Trades) membership.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of the mining industry and proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Common Core U0000, U0001, U0002 and U0012 (an asset).

Responsibilities

• Assign work to team members and follow up on progress and quality.
• Provide daily guidance, answer questions and share technical knowledge with the team.
• Inspect equipment, diagnose malfunctions and determine repairs, parts and tools required.
• Disassemble, repair, adjust or replace defective components, and perform routine maintenance.
• Prepare work orders and coordinate parts with management and procurement.
• Communicate professionally with customers and respond to their needs.
• Suggest improvements to work methods and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Ensure the team follows health and safety procedures and wears PPE.
