Number of Positions: 1
Duration: 3 months with possible extension
Location: Markham, ON, CA
Must be eligible to work in Canada

Position Type: Hybrid (3 days onsite, no exceptions; may change to fully onsite later)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• As a Data Test Engineer, possess strong technical capabilities and good knowledge of coding languages commonly used in ETL development such as Python, SQL, and XML, along with Data Warehousing concepts.
• Troubleshoot bugs and errors, finding solutions in ETL development.
• Familiarity with data warehouse architecture techniques like ODS, DM, EDW, and ROLAP.
• Extensive experience in solving complex technical problems and troubleshooting.

Must Have Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience on enterprise applications, including Data Warehouse Testing.
• Experience in writing complex SQL queries and determining testing types (data validation, regression, etc.), supporting comprehensive test planning.
• Experience testing multiple test phases in medium to large projects.
• Understanding of information governance principles in testing contexts.
• Clear understanding of data warehouse and data mart testing.
• Proficiency in identification and test data preparation techniques.
• Ability to translate complex business logic into SQL or PL/SQL queries.
• Thorough knowledge of Software Test Life Cycle, Test Case Life Cycle, and Defect Life Cycle.
• Experience creating requirements traceability matrices (RTM).
• Proficiency in Test Case Preparation and Execution.
• Extensive experience with ETL testing and high-level SQL skills.
• Exposure to large data sets and understanding of Data Quality Framework.
• Experience in data analysis, profiling, auditing, balancing, and reconciliation.
• Experience tuning SQL queries, stored procedures, views for performance improvements.
• Attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Knowledge of data models and entity relationship diagrams.
• Experience with Cloud platforms like Snowflake, AWS (S3), PostgreSQL, Hadoop Data Lake, MongoDB.
• Experience using ETL tools like Informatica PowerCenter & BDM.
• Experience developing data extraction, transformation, and load programs.
• Experience with data integration, cleansing, and analytics.
• Knowledge of data modeling and design principles for data marts and warehouses.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
