Job description

WHO WE ARE
When it comes to health, we’re always looking for ways to push for better. It’s why we were founded in the first place. In 1957, our founder, pharmacist William Wilkinson, witnessed a mother sacrifice her health by forgoing her own medicine to pay for her sick daughter’s prescription. He knew there had to be a better way. So, he introduced North America’s first prepaid drug plan, and GreenShield was born as a not-for-profit with a mission to support better health for all Canadians.

We aren’t just a health and benefits company. We’re the only not-for-profit social enterprise that brings worlds of coverage and care together, all in one place.
We’re noble challengers, purposefully building a better way and we need the best people to help us create a more holistic approach that takes care of the mind and body.

Our mission is to create better health for all Canadians, and we know that starts with our employees.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software QA Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading QA teams on multiple projects, guiding cross-functional teams, and implementing automation frameworks. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards across our products, coordinating efforts between development, QA, and business teams, and driving initiatives that improve testing processes and automation.

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality standards.
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members, helping them grow both technically and professionally.
  • Manage and oversee the execution of multiple concurrent QA projects, ensuring deadlines are met and goals are achieved.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to software quality, test coverage, automation effectiveness, and team performance.

Automation & Testing Strategy:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated test frameworks and scripts to improve testing efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Oversee and manage the automation of regression, performance, and functional tests across various platforms and environments.
  • Continuously evaluate, enhance, and maintain test automation processes and tools to ensure they remain aligned with the evolving product landscape.

Quality Assurance & Process Improvement

  • Develop and enforce QA best practices, standards, and processes to ensure the quality of both new and existing software.
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality releases.
  • Coordinate test case design, test execution, defect management, and reporting in alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Implement continuous improvement strategies in testing processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience leading and managing cross-functional teams on complex software QA projects.
  • Strong background in manual and automated testing of web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and cloud-based systems.
  • Extensive experience with Cypress, Playwright, Appium, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript.
  • Experience with JIRA, TestRail, and Azure DevOps.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, K6, JMeter) is a plus.

We believe our people are critical to our overall success. Inclusivity makes us a stronger, smarter, and more informed organization. Being intentionally inclusive of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences will enhance our company culture to positively impact how we support our communities.
