Job summary

Quality Assurance Specialist

Today we have a highly skilled team of approximately 100 people working in our St. Albert and Winnipeg locations.

Position:

We are currently looking for Quality Assurance Specialist who cares to go that extra mile in making a meaningful and positive impact on the health, well‑being and lives of our workforce, partners, local and global communities.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for executing and maintaining RW Consumer Products’ quality standards at the Winnipeg site, in alignment with Health Canada’s GMP guidelines and under the direction of the Director, Quality & Regulatory Compliance. This role plays a key part in supporting regulatory compliance, documentation control, and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality assurance activities across all product categories produced or distributed at the Winnipeg location.
  • Maintain and update QA documentation and records in accordance with cGMP and company policies, with particular attention to natural health products and DIN compliance.
  • Prepare for and support Health Canada audits and inspections, including coordination of site readiness and documentation.
  • Develop and revise production and distribution SOPs as required, and ensure all SOPs are approved and implemented effectively.
  • Conduct internal audits and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement and ensure audit preparedness.
  • Monitor and report on local quality metrics and trends to the Director, Quality & Regulatory Compliance and Senior Management.
  • Coordinate temperature mapping and environmental monitoring of the Winnipeg warehouse.
  • Ensure quality documents are properly organized, current, and accessible.
  • Complete GMP training for all staff, including annual self‑inspection audit with a written report.
  • Liaise with QA auditors from customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies during site visits.
  • Communicate any significant deviations or compliance issues to the Director, Quality & Regulatory Compliance.
  • Stay informed of regulatory updates and provide summaries of relevant changes to the Director, Quality & Regulatory Compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Health Canada, WHMIS, GMP, and customer specifications at the Winnipeg site.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment (Pharmaceutical QA experience necessary), preferably a GMP environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the cGMP and Health Canada requirements.
  • Proficient in quality tools and methodologies.
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience with ERP and QMS platforms.
