Job summary

Gate Gourmet in Vancouver seeks aQuality Assurance professional to monitor and improve quality systems in a fast-paced food production environment. You will audit processes, manage corrective actions, and drive preventive measures in collaboration with QA leadership.

Ideal candidates have a related college degree with HACCP knowledge, experience with GMPs/SOPs, and strong organizational and communication skills. Experience in airline catering is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: college degree in related discipline with knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP and/or Quality Management.
• Experience: GMPs, SOPs, HACCP and quality program control.
• Industry: high volume manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment.
• Airline industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality improvement projects.
• Audit implementation of quality system for effectiveness by verifying operation activities to Gate Gourmet, Customer and Regulatory specification.
• Monitor corrective action system.
• Implement the quality system detailed in the quality manual with QA Manager and QA Supervisor.
• Drive prevention vs. detection of defects.
• Coordinate actions to prevent nonconformities.
• Maintain customer compliance resolution.
• Maintain key performance metrics for the Quality organization.
• Control Food safety and Quality of processing and manufacturing within the business.
• Support customer audits and government audits to meet compliance.
• Verify and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
• Ensure quality specifications and requirements are followed and met.
• Responsible for safety, quality and compliance to customer specification.
• Train and monitor employees on proper work procedures to ensure productivity and cost efficiency.

• Responsible for the maintenance of key performance metrics for the Quality organization
• Controls Food safety and Quality of processing and manufacturing within the business
• Supports customer audits, government audits to meet compliance
• Verifies and ensures company policies and procedures are followed
• Ensures quality specifications and requirements are followed and met
• Responsible for safety, quality and compliance to customer specification
• Trains and monitors employees on proper work procedures to ensure maximum productivity and security with minimum labor and costs

Qualifications

Education:

• Preferred college degree in related discipline and knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP and/or Quality Management

Work Experience:

• Experience in quality control practices (GMP’s, SOP’s, and HACCP) and quality program control an asset
• Experience working in a high volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment or equivalent experience in the related field preferred
• Experience working in the airline industry would be an asset
