Job summary

Aplin has partnered with a reputable construction company to recruit a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Coordinator with strong technical knowledge of concrete construction, asphalt materials and testing, and quality documentation.

The role involves reviewing contracts, performing inspections and testing, coordinating QA/QC activities, and maintaining client and subcontractor relationships to ensure project quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of quality control experience in construction.
  • Strong knowledge of ITPs, NCRs, and quality documentation.
  • Experience with field inspections, testing, and verification.

Responsibilities

  • Review contracts for specifications and quality requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections, witness testing, and document findings.
  • Coordinate QA/QC activities with construction operations.
  • Verify compliance of trade contractors with quality programs.
  • Plan and document mock-ups and turnover packages.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and project staff.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and standards.
  • Support field management to protect completed work.

Job description

Aplin has partnered with a reputable construction company to recruit a Quality Assurance/ Quality Control Coordinator with strong technical knowledge of :

  • Concrete construction
  • Asphalt materials and testing
  • Quality documentation and compliance processes
Responsibilities
  • Review prime contract and subcontract details for specifications and requirements.
    Conduct quality activities aligned with project scope in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Review project specifications and identify quality requirements.
  • Perform visual inspections, witness testing, monitor work, and document findings in accordance with project Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and determine the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Produce and collect quality turnover documentation.
  • Act as a liaison with field personnel and project staff to provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Verify trade contractor compliance with quality programs and contract requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate daily Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) activities with construction operations.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and documentation of mock-ups.
  • Work with field management to ensure the protection of completed work.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, technologies, and innovative construction methods.
  • Develop and maintain strong, customer-focused relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Journeyperson/trades certification or a bachelor’s degree in Engineering,
  • Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality control experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and quality documentation requirements.
  • Experience performing field inspections, testing, and verification activities.
  • General knowledge of construction practices, specifications, methods, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of concrete and asphalt materials, including testing procedures and acceptance criteria.
  • Familiarity with applicable construction codes and industry standards.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
