Job summary

Natural Factors Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Compliance Supervisor to lead regulatory compliance across GMP, PCP/HACCP, and import/export activities. The role manages documentation, audits, and liaison with CFIA/USDA, ensuring product safety and quality.

The position is full-time, on-site/hybrid in Coquitlam, BC, with a focus on staff supervision, schedule planning, and adherence to health and safety standards, offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or Food Science.
  • 5+ years in a similar role within food/NHP/pharma industries.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience and GMP knowledge.
  • Proficient with MS Office and data reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage attainment and maintenance of quality certificates and import/export permits.
  • Lead team to secure mandatory documentation, liaising with CFIA/USDA.
  • Maintain PCP/HACCP programs and support supplier requalification.
  • Support quality agreement management, complaint handling, and audits.
  • Assist manager with staff scheduling, timesheets, and HR matters.

Quality Assurance (QA) Compliance Supervisor

Job Description

Permanent Full-Time (40 hours)

Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (flexible); Hybrid

In this role, you will:
  • Plan and manage activities needed for the attainment and maintenance of key quality certificate and licenses, export health certificates/permits, licenses, and import requests
  • Lead the team to secure mandatory import and export documentation, liaising directly with government regulatory bodies (such as CFIA and USDA)
  • Lead the maintenance and updates to Food Safety Preventative Control Plans (PCP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) programs as required
  • Support in supplier management program by leading all activities related to supplier requalification
  • Support in quality agreement management, complaint handling, certification management programs as applicable
  • Support manager with staff schedule, timesheets, performance assessment and of human resources matters
You have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry, Engineering, Biology, or Food Science)
  • Experience in a similar role in food, natural health products (NHP), and/or pharmaceutical industry (5+ years)
  • Supervisory experience (2+ years)
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written & verbal)
  • Competent with MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) including data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Knowledge of Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Food and Drugs Act (FDA), US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Health Canada, European Union TRACES, and Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations.
  • Proficient with food safety preventative control plan (PCP) / hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP).
  • Experience in importing and exporting (an asset)
  • Valid driver’s license, with access to a reliable vehicle
