Job description

Ready to elevate your career?

GFL Environmental Services Inc. (GESI) is expanding! We are officially hunting for our next QA Analyst in Vaughan—someone ready to bring fresh ideas and grow alongside a dynamic team for a 1-year contract duration.

About Us

GFL Environmental Services Inc. ("GESI") is a high-growth environmental services company recently carved out of GFL Environmental Inc. Backed by leading private equity firms, GESI delivers liquid waste, industrial cleaning, and soil remediation services across North America through a vertically integrated platform of over 230 sites and a fleet of 1,800+ vehicles. Our employees, collectively known as 'Team Green,' enjoy numerous benefits: career advancement opportunities, competitive benefits, job stability within an essential services company, and the chance to make a positive impact every day for our customers and communities, Green for Life!

The Role

We are looking for a talented QA Analyst to join our team for a 1-year contract. In this role, you will excel at navigating complex enterprise ecosystems, serving as a critical resource for our migration journey by rigorously testing legacy .NET Framework applications while validating new features in a modern React/.NET 6 environment. You will work closely with Development and Engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into executable test plans and ensure seamless data flows between custom applications and our CRM. The role reports to the Director, Software Development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Migration Testing: Validate that business logic remains consistent as we migrate from legacy .NET 4.8 monoliths to modern .NET 6 microservices.
  • Salesforce Validation: Test integrations between our internal applications and Salesforce, ensuring lead data, customer records, and workflows sync correctly.
  • Advanced Data Testing: Use SQL to perform "under-the-hood" verification, ensuring that the database reflects UI actions and no data is lost during migration.
  • End-to-End Functional Testing: Perform deep-dive manual testing on React-based frontends, focusing on user experience, browser compatibility, and edge-case scenarios.
  • Regression & Collaboration: Maintain a high quality bar for legacy systems while testing new cloud-native (AWS) features, working closely with developers to execute test plans.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
  • 6+ years of professional experience in manual QA, specifically with complex enterprise-level web applications spanning legacy .NET environments and modern SPAs (React/TypeScript).
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Technical Skills
  • SQL Mastery (Joins, Unions, Aggregate functions), Postman/REST API testing tools, Salesforce modules (Sales/Service Cloud), and AWS environments (CloudWatch logs).
Soft Skills
  • Systems thinker with extreme attention to detail, strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to act as a "bridge" between legacy documentation and modern tech in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points
  • Familiarity with Playwright (or desire to learn automated testing), and experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
