Job summary

Acuity Brands, Inc. in Canada is seeking a QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental programs across manufacturing operations.

You will maintain ISO standards, drive audits, and develop simple, effective management systems while coaching teams and partnering with leaders to embed a proactive QHSE culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of QHSE experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and H&S regulations (Internal Auditor certification is an asset).
  • Proven track record in project management, process improvement, and structured problem-solving.
  • Leadership: Strong relationship-builder who influences without formal authority across all organizational levels.
  • Adaptable, agile, and comfortable driving cultural/organizational change in ambiguous environments.
  • Collaborative mindset focused on co-creation, capability building, and championing a proactive QHSE culture.
  • People management or supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Communication: Bilingual fluency in English and French (written and spoken).
  • Sk ill s at translating complex compliance requirements into simple, actionable solutions.

We are looking for... .a QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) Manager to transform and continuously improve our Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.

In a context of rapid growth and business transformation, this individual will combine technical expertise, change leadership and influence skills to develop management systems that are simple, effective and fully integrated into daily operations.

As an ambassador, the QHSE Manager will act as a strategic partner and coach to leaders across the organization, helping them take ownership of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental performance.

Depending on the evolution of the organization's needs, this individual may also be required to supervise one or more QHSE team members.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

1. Quality & Environmental Management

Maintain ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, regulatory compliance, and KPI tracking.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

Expertise

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5+ years of QHSE experience, preferably in manufacturing.
