Job summary

Academy Fabricators Group is seeking a Weld Inspector to lead quality control in our Onoway fabrication facility. You will verify spools, welds, and materials, ensuring compliance with project specs and WPS requirements.

The role requires a strong QC background in pipe fabrication, 5+ years, and a background in fabrication shop environments. We offer full-time permanent employment, group benefits, and overtime pay after 40 hours.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Quality Control with emphasis on pipe fabrication.
• Minimum 2 years of similar experience in a fabrication shop.
• Must be detail oriented and accurate.

Responsibilities

• Understand owner and client specifications.
• Verify spools meet fabrication tolerances and sign off on cut sheets.
• Visually inspect welds and verify material grades and heat numbers.
• Record welding parameters (amps, volts, travel speed) when required.
• Maintain daily tracking sheets and logs.
