Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries. Our services include tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.
SUMMARY
The Quality Control Entry Level Inspector will support the quality department through reporting, filing, record keeping, inspections, and related duties.
Location : Edmonton Fabrication Shop
JOB DUTIES
- Assist QA/QC team in maintaining job files.
- Compile reports from the internal quality management system.
- Ensure inspection documentation is completed within designated timelines.
- Facilitate the timely compilation of turnover packages to meet client schedules.
- Input quality data into databases.
- Monitor statistical data and assist QC Inspectors with project NDE percentages and test requirements.
- Assist in generating NDE Requests and coordinate with NDE service providers.
- Maintain welder qualification database and test/retest schedules.
- Compile and archive documentation, both manual and electronic.
- Perform visual inspections as outlined in the WD and report findings clearly and accurately.
- Assist other inspectors as needed.
- Conduct dimensional control inspections and report as required.
- Verify materials received and record results.
- Learn quality standards, procedures, and specifications for all work in process.
- Participate in investigating non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Advise production personnel of inspection results upon completion.
- Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and user groups.
- Participate actively in safety procedures, report unsafe practices, and follow hazard protocols.
- Perform various other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CWB Welding Inspector qualifications – CSA W178.2 Level 1 is an asset but not required.
- Understanding of NDE processes used in the industry.
- Knowledge of pressure piping codes and regulatory requirements.
- A diploma in Welding Engineering Technology or Materials Engineering Technology is an asset.
