Job description

Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries. Our services include tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

Summary

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing daily site inspections and preparing inspection reports or other documentation as detailed in the Quality Control Manual and the Work Description (WD).

Job Duties
  1. Development of I.T.Ps.
  2. Perform and report visual inspections as outlined in the WD & prepare clear and accurate reports.
  3. Assist other Inspectors in their duties.
  4. Ensure adherence to the project I.T.P and complete all required sign-offs.
  5. Perform and report dimensional control inspections as required.
  6. Verify and record materials.
  7. Report all non-conformances according to the Quality Assurance System.
  8. Understand contractual quality obligations, standards, procedures, specifications, and tolerances.
  9. Conduct incoming inspections of materials received.
  10. Perform and report final inspections.
  11. Participate in investigations of non-conformances and corrective actions.
  12. Inspect and verify punch list completion.
  13. Notify production personnel of inspection results.
  14. Compile quality documents for job files and turnover packages.
  15. Assist in training welders and craftsmen regarding Quality requirements.
  16. Coordinate welder testing and record results.
  17. Participate in internal and external quality audits.
  18. Build effective relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and user groups.
  19. Participate in safety procedures, correct unsafe practices, and report violations.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • MPI/LPI Level 2 required.
  • CWB Welding Inspector qualifications – CSA W178.2 Level 1 is an asset.
  • Experience developing I.T.Ps. and completing final turnarounds.
  • Knowledge of N.D.E. processes, API 650/653, ASME B31.3, CSA W59, CSA Z662, and NACE Level 1 or 2 is an asset.
  • Diploma in Welding Engineering Technology or Materials Engineering Technology is an asset.
