Job summary

Baytech Plastics is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to ensure part quality on the assigned shift, following procedures that support safe, efficient operations. The QA techs sit on the shift leadership team with the supervisor and lead injection technician.

Candidates should be able to work rotating 8- or 12-hour shifts, have a Grade 12 minimum, and lift moderate weights. Full-time benefits kick in after probation.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 minimum education required.
• Experience with quality audits and record keeping.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 is an asset.
• Proficient in math and both imperial and metric measurements.
• Experience with measuring devices like calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality audits on plastic parts and record results.
• Use measuring gauges and equipment to verify parts.
• Read and interpret drawings, GD&T included.
• Prepare reports and maintain quality records.
• Train operators on quality standards and procedures; enforce policies.
• Participate in new product introduction and continuous improvement activities.

Job description

Working within a team-based environment, the Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for the shift's part quality, adhering to processes and procedures which contribute to an efficient and safe operation at Baytech Plastics. QA techs are part of the shift leadership team along with the supervisor and lead injection technician.

Ability to work rotating shifts, 8hr and 12hr, grade 12 minimum, ability to lift moderate weight parts. Full time benefits after completion of probation.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality audits on plastic parts based on specified criteria and record results digitally and manually.
• Ability to use various types of measuring gauges and equipment.
• Abiltiy to read and interpret drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• General admin: Prepare reports, ensure all quality records are up to date and filed correctly, data entry.
• Train injection operators and other staff on quality standards and applicable procedures; ensure enforcement of procedures and policies.
• Must wear proper PPE and follow all specified guidelines.
• Participate in new product introduction teams.

Requirements:

• Experience with Microsoft Teams, Inventory management system is an asset
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality management system is an asset
• Good knowledge of math
• Knowledge of Imperial and metric system
• Experience with measuring devices(Calipers, micrometers, scales, etc)

8hr (MAD), 11pm-7am, 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm one week at a time
12hr 2 week Days; 7am-7pm, Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed, Thurs
12hr 2 week Nights; 7pm-7am, Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun, Wed, Thurs
