Job summary

CannaPiece Corp. in Pickering, ON is seeking a QA Specialist to ensure conformance to SOPs and quality in production. The role collaborates with Production and Quality teams on documentation and quality controls.

Requirements include a B.Sc. in a related field and at least one year in pharma, food, or cannabis. Familiarity with GMP/GPP/GCP and ISO QM systems is a plus. Competitive CAD salary offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in pharma, food, and/or cannabis industry.
• Familiarity with GMP, GPP, GCP and ISO quality management systems an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop and roll out document management tools and monitor Quality Systems.
• Maintain master documents and records; ensure retrievability and accuracy.
• Manage the document periodic review process and coordinate training on SOPs.
• Issue batch processing records for production teams.
• Develop deviation reports, change controls, SOPs, specifications and related records.
• Prepare quality-related protocols and technical documents.
• Track calibration/PM schedules for equipment and coordinate scales calibration.
• Review activity logbooks and batch records for good documentation practices.
• Provide support to QA personnel and team members as needed.

Job Title : QA Specialist

Location: Pickering, ON

Work Hours: 10AM to 6PM, Monday to Friday (with potential to change to 2PM to 10PM in the future)

Compensation Range: $50,000 to $60,000 annually, based on experience

About the role:

The QA Specialist is responsible for working with Production and Quality teams to ensure conformance to SOP’s and quality in production.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development and roll-out of document management tools, monitors documentation/Quality Systems function, and coordinate with IT on issues
• Maintain master documents and records (both hardcopy and/or electronic) to ensure documentation is retrievable and files are accurate, complete, and well organized
• Manage the document periodic review process
• Coordinate training of employees on new or revised SOPs
• Issuance of Batch processing records for production team
• Develop deviation reports, change controls, SOPs, specifications, and any quality related records
• Develop and perform protocols, report or any technical documents related to Quality department
• Tracks calibration / PM schedule for multiple equipment, coordinate calibration of scales.
• Reviews activity logbooks, batch records ensure good documentation practices are enforced.
• Provides support to Quality Assurance Person and other team members as required.

Job Requirements:

• A university degree (B.Sc.) in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacy or Food.
• Minimum one year of experience in a pharma, food, and/or cannabis industry.
• Familiarity with GMP, GPP, GCP and/or any ISO quality management system is an asset.
• Good Understanding of Cannabis regulations would be an asset.
• Multitasking, good communication skills, good interpersonal skills and ability to function under pressure and within a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work both alone and in teams
