Job summary

Iconic Electric and Controls is seeking a full-time, project-based QA/QC Lead to join our team in Cochrane, AB, just northwest of Calgary. You will test, commission, and troubleshoot electrical, instrument, and control systems across industrial projects, with a preference for candidates with construction experience.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, preparing QA/QC documentation, and mentoring coworkers in procedures.

Job description

Iconic Electric and Controls is currently searching for a full-time, project based QA/QC Lead to join our team in Cochrane, AB just 12-20 minutes northwest of Calgary, Alberta.

Candidates must possess a full range of knowledge to test, commission, and troubleshoot a range of Electrical, Instrument and Control Systems for a variety of industrial projects. Preference will be given to applicants who have construction experience.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Read and interpret drawings, P&IDs, blueprints, schematics.
• QA/QC Documentation and testing procedures.
• Test, troubleshoot and commission electrical and instrumentation equipment on new equipment.
• Comply with standards and procedures of the Iconic Electric and Control's Health and Safety Manual and OHS Regulations.
• Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Identify components and mount nameplates and other identification tools according to drawing packages.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Mentor and assist co-workers on procedures and techniques. Assist co-workers in resolving technical problems.

Qualifications:

• Journeyperson Electrician or Instrument Certificate, or
  • preference given to those with Red Seal Electrician status
• Proficient in the use of Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Experience creating and working off an ITP
• Experience in document/work turnover and work stages
• Continually monitor work in progress via the QC auditing process
• Experience working in a construction or industrial environment
• Good mathematical, scientific, mechanical and logical reasoning abilities
• Good communication and reading skills
• Valid driver's license
• Safety tickets an asset (i.e. CSTS, First Aid, H2S Alive, Fall Arrest and Aerial Platform)
• Must be proficient in fundamentals of lockout/tagout
• Must be able to understand a project request from upper management.
• Must have basic knowledge of industrial controls
