Job summary

Best Buy Canada in Vancouver, BC is seeking a QA Analyst to join our growing QA community in an intermediate, 12-month fixed-term capacity. You will design and document test scenarios, script automated tests, and verify features from design to deployment.

The role supports a remote-first working model with in-person collaboration five days per quarter to drive strategy and teamwork. Candidates with 3+ years in software QA will fit well.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience planning, designing, developing, and testing software.
  • 2+ years of automation in Java or another language.
  • 2+ years of experience with Selenium, Java, or scripting language.
  • Experience with automation testing across Webapps, API’s, Micro Services, and Backend systems.
  • Knowledge of data structures and data manipulation.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies and processes.
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum environment.

We are growing our QA Analyst community and are on the lookout for incredible talent for intermediate positions in 12-month fixed term capacities.


As a QA Analyst, you will be collaborating with an agile team and designing and documenting test scenarios, identifying target test items, scripting automated tests, and testing new features from the design stage all the way through to deployment.


In this role, the successful candidate is needed to be in the greater Vancouver, BC area, where we practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions 5 days per quarter for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you’ll do:


  • Determining the requirements for deploying new features and functions to developer and test environments

  • Automation scripting and maintenance, as well as running the execution and analyzing the results.

  • Analyzing and identifying gaps in test coverage, and designing test cases and test scenarios

  • Being the quality champion by ensuring the team is following the proper acceptance criteria, leveraging the right test cases, and adhering to QA standards.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (onshore/offshore teams).

  • Keeping stakeholders up to date on the status and results of testing.

  • Documenting, triaging, investigating, and re-testing bugs and failures.


What we’re looking for:


  • 3+ years of experience planning, designing, developing, and testing software.

  • 2+ years of experience with Selenium, Java, or any relevant scripting language.
