Job summary

TMX in Montreal, QC, is seeking a Programmer Analyst for the Global Technology Services group. You will design, implement, and support Python-based automation tools used by Operations and Risk teams in a hybrid work environment.

You will participate in architecture, code reviews, and testing, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teammates to translate requirements into reliable software solutions. The ideal candidate has 5+ years as an Analyst Programmer with Python experience, solid OOP

Qualifications

• University degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience as an Analyst Programmer, including at least 3 years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and software design practices.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise-level applications.
• Excellent software/system troubleshooting skills.
• Fluency in French and English (spoken and written) essential for documentation.

As a Programmer Analyst of the squad you will be involved in the design, implementation and support of Python business tools used by the Operation and Risk teams. Job Location: This role is hybrid (2-3 days/week in the office) - based in Montreal, QC

Key Accountabilities

• Participate in the architecture, the design, the development and the maintenance of business automation tools used by operation teams.
• Elaborate and execute tests prior to delivery.

• Conduct and participate in code reviews by following the enterprise code standards.

Must Have(s)

• University degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Analyst Programmer, including at least 3 years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and software design practices.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise-level applications.
• Excellent software/system troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Python unit testing frameworks and best practices, including the design and maintenance of automated tests.
• Language Skills: Fluency in French and English (spoken and written) is essential for this position, as it involves producing documentation for internal stakeholders who communicate in both languages.
