Job summary

TMX Group is seeking a DevOps Analyst, CI/CD Pipelines in Montreal. The role focuses on designing, building, and supporting scalable CI/CD workflows across GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, and Jenkins within a hybrid work setup.

You will standardize pipeline components, implement guardrails, and manage IaC and cloud resources to enable fast, secure software delivery while collaborating with multiple squads.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines across GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, and Jenkins.
  • Strong experience building reusable pipeline components for cross‑team adoption.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and deep experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab.
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Linux/Windows, and networking fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, ArgoCD).
  • Experience with pipeline logging and monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proven track record of diagnosing issues from logs and metrics.
  • Excellent documentation skills and the ability to influence and drive DevOps standard adoption across squads.

  • DevOps Best Practices & Guardrails: Drive enterprise adoption of DevOps practices and guardrails; monitor pipeline flow metrics.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Cloud Management: Use Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to provision cloud infrastructure and pipeline environments.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Support building and deploying containerized apps using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and ArgoCD.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to analyze pipeline health and diagnose failures.
  • Squad Enablement & Collaboration: Partner with cross‑functional teams to share knowledge and drive standard adoption.

We are seeking a highly motivated DevOps Analyst, CI/CD Pipelines to join our team.

Reporting to the DevOps Lead, Tools, this role acts as the primary pipeline specialist for development squads—helping them build, standardize, and troubleshoot efficient build/test/deploy workflows across GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, and Jenkins.

Job Location: This role is hybrid (2-3 days/week in the office) - based in Montreal, QC

Key Accountabilities
  • CI/CD Pipeline Design & Support: Design, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines across GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, and Jenkins to enable reliable, secure, and automated delivery.
  • Standardization & Documentation: Build reusable pipeline artifacts (GitHub reusable workflows, GitLab templates, Jenkins shared libraries) as "golden path" standards; create clear runbooks, how-to guides, and self‑serve documentation.
  • DevOps Best Practices & Guardrails: Drive enterprise adoption of DevOps practices, establish lightweight policy-as-code guardrails (branch protection, pipeline approval gates), and monitor pipeline flow metrics to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Cloud Management: Utilize Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to provision and manage cloud infrastructure (runners, EC2, EKS, RDS) and automate disposable, ephemer‑al pipeline environments.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Support the building, management, and deployment of containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and ArgoCD within pipeline workflows.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) to analyze pipeline health, diagnose failures, and perform root‑cause analysis.
  • Squad Enablement & Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional development, QA, and operations teams to share knowledge, train squads on self‑service pipeline tools, and drive standard adoption without formal authority.
Must Have(s)
  • Hands‑on experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines across GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, and Jenkins (all required).
  • Strong experience building reusable pipeline components (shared libraries, composite actions, CI templates) for cross‑team adoption.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and deep experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), OS (Linux/Windows), and networking fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, ArgoCD).
  • Experience with pipeline logging and monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a proven track record of diagnosing issues directly from logs and metrics.
  • Excellent documentation skills and the ability to influence and drive DevOps standard adoption across squads.

Language Proficiency: Fluency in French and English (spoken and written) is essential for this position, as it involves producing documentation for external and internal stakeholders who communicate in both languages.

  • Experience establishing policy-as-code guardrails and automated compliance checks within CI/CD workflows.
  • Familiarity with tracking and analyzing DORA / flow metrics to optimize pipeline performance.
