Job summary

TMX Group in Montreal, QC, invites an experienced Programmer Analyst to design, implement and support Python-based automation tools used by the Operations and Risk teams. You will contribute to architecture, code reviews and testing within a Kanban environment.

The role requires 5+ years of Python experience, strong OOP skills, and fluency in French and English, with a hybrid work model 2–3 days in the office. The team collaborates across TMX capabilities.

Global Technology Services (GTS) is one of the foundational divisions of the TMX Group, that empowers internal TMX business lines for their technology needs, operations and digital innovation. As a Programmer Analyst of the squad you will be involved in the design, implementation and support of Python business tools used by the Operation and Risk teams. Reports to: Squad Lead, Risk Products; Job Location: This role is hybrid (2-3 days/week in the office) - based in Montreal, QC

Key Accountabilities

Participate in the architecture, the design, the development and the maintenance of business automation tools used by operation teams. Elaborate and execute tests prior to delivery. Collaborate with the team members to understand and to challenge the requirements, design, and the testing cycle. Conduct and participate in code reviews by following the enterprise code standards.

Must Have(s)

• University degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Analyst Programmer, including at least 3 years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and software design practices.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise-level applications.
• Excellent software/system troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Python unit testing frameworks and best practices, including the design and maintenance of automated tests.
• Language Skills: Fluency in French and English (spoken and written) is essential for this position, as it involves producing documentation for internal stakeholders who communicate in both languages.
