Job summary

Pulsar Measurement in Canada is seeking a highly organized Purchasing Manager to lead sourcing, purchasing, supplier management and inventory planning. You will ensure materials are available for manufacturing, driving cost improvements and inventory optimization.

The role reports to the site Operations Manager and requires strong negotiation, ERP/MRP experience, and team leadership. Travel may be required; competitive CAD salary and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a senior buyer, purchasing manager, or supply chain leadership role
  • Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office applications
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing or industrial instrumentation is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead all purchasing and sourcing activities to support manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to improve cost, quality, delivery, and supply continuity.
  • Manage supplier relationships, performance reviews, and contract negotiations.
  • Identify and qualify new suppliers to support business growth and new product initiatives.
  • Optimize inventory levels while maintaining strong customer service performance.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions when required.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to ensure material availability.
  • Analyze purchasing and planning processes and implement continuous improvements.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage purchasing activities, inventory planning, and supplier performance.
  • Support forecasting, demand planning, and capacity planning activities.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Lead and mentor purchasing team members and promote accountability and teamwork.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, customer obsessed, and proactive Purchasing Manager to lead our sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and inventory planning activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring materials are available to support our customers while driving improvements in cost, supplier performance, and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

  • APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or related certification is considered an asset
  • Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field is preferred

Pay Transparency:
We are committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices. The compensation range for this position is$90,000 - $100,000 CAD per year,depending on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

In addition to base compensation, this role includes a comprehensive benefit package which may include health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other benefits.
