As our Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods to meet operational requirements for the BeautiTone Paint & Home Products Division. Led by the Materials Manager, this opportunity suits someone who is detail-oriented and can analyze data and market trends effectively.

Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how :

  • Direct the purchase of material for the division.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers of materials, equipment, transportation, and services to the division. The purchasing department acts as the liaison between the division and its suppliers.
  • Manage supply chain logistics to ensure timely availability of materials for manufacturing.
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers.
  • Stay updated on market conditions for purchased materials and feedstocks.
  • Source new raw materials, packaging items, plant supplies, equipment, and safety supplies, including offsets for current materials.
  • Perform cost analysis to support decision-making.
  • Set standard material costs for the division’s annual budget and review purchase price variances.
  • Assist in designing and testing new packaging materials, creating bills of material, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Place, enter, and expedite orders for raw materials and supplies.
  • Participate in industry associations.
  • Investigate off-spec materials, arrange returns and compensation, and obtain corrective actions from suppliers.
  • Prepare data for regulatory reports.
  • Maintain information in Oracle, including vendor and material data.

We’re looking for :

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management.
  • 3-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, planning, organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Oracle experience is an asset.
