Job summary

BluPlanet Recycling Inc in Calgary, AB is seeking a Pullout Driver (Class 5) to join our growing team. The role involves safely operating heavy‑duty trucks, pulling trailers, and delivering containers to disposal sites and customer sites.

The ideal candidate has a valid Class 5 license (Q endorsement a plus), trailer experience, and a strong safety focus. Starting pay is CAD 25/hour, with competitive benefits and a supportive, team‑oriented workplace.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Pullout Driver (Class 5) to join our team. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, confident operating heavy-duty trucks, and experienced in handling trailers in various driving environments. This physically demanding role involves transporting large open-top and compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer stations, recycling facilities, and customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Class 5 trucks safely and efficiently along industrial and urban routes.
• Safely pull and maneuver trailers in tight spaces and diverse environments.
• Navigate driveways, alleyways, high-traffic roads, and areas with overhead restrictions.
• Execute precise backing maneuvers and container positioning.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety.
• Secure and transport containers in compliance with safety standards.
• Deliver and pick up containers from customer sites, ensuring proper placement.
• Communicate effectively with the operations team regarding site issues or delays.
• Utilize app-based routing and reporting software for real-time navigation and job documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicle and client sites.
• Assist with shop/yard duties and support overflow routes as required.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with Q (Air Brake) endorsement is a plus.
• Preferably with experience pulling a trailer and doing multi-stop routes.
• Trailering experience strongly preferred (landscaping, construction, delivery, equipment hauling, etc.).
• Clean commercial driver’s abstract.
• Physically capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 75 lbs.
• Basic knowledge of truck maintenance is an asset.
