Job summary

Ville de Mont-Royal's Public Works Department is seeking a Section Head to oversee municipal services operations, including roads, water distribution and sewer systems, parks and green spaces, and the municipal garage. The role emphasizes quality, continuity of services, and effective leadership of a dedicated team.

The position requires a university degree, 5–10 years in Public Works, 5 years of management experience, bilingual French/English, and a valid Class 5 driver's license.

Qualifications

• Held a first-degree university diploma in a related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant Public Works experience.
• 5 years of experience in team management or coordination.
• Good knowledge of the municipal sector.
• Experience in a unionized environment.
• Bilingualism (French and English); English knowledge required.
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• ASP Construction Card is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, and supervise the section’s activities with timelines and results.
• Lead, engage, and support employees under supervision.
• Ensure application of policies, standards, and contracts, and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to promote coordination and improvement.
• Act on behalf of the supervisor during vacations or absences.
• Oversee roads, water and sewer systems, parks, and municipal garage operations.
