Job summary

The Town of Star City is accepting applications for a Permanent Full Time Public Works Employee. This position is based in Star City and involves operating within approved policies, programs, and budget as part of the Town’s public works team.

Requirements include 1–2 years of experience, Grade 12 (ABE 12), a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver’s licence, and the willingness to obtain certification to operate heavy equipment (grader, loader, backhoe). First Aid and water/sewer knowledge are assets.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of public works or equivalent experience.
• Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license.
• Willingness to obtain certification to operate heavy equipment (grader/loader/backhoe).

• Working with the Town CAO and Council; the town Public Works Employee is expected to operate within approved policies, programs and budget of the Town.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Possession of a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers licence.
• Must have (or be willing to obtain certification) to operate heavy equipment/grader, loader and backhoe.
• Must possess knowledge of vehicle/equipment operation and maintenance.
• Reliable with good communications skills.
• First Aid Certification and knowledge of water & sewer systems would be an asset.
