Job summary

Huron Perth Public Health in Stratford is seeking a part-time Public Health Nurse for the Infectious Disease Team within the Health Protection Department. The 0.8 FTE role starts in November 2026 and ends June 30, 2027, based at Stratford - West Gore office.

The successful candidate will apply IPAC practices, coordinate with databases (iPHIS, Accuro/EMR, CCM), and contribute to immunization and infection control programs while working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills essential.
• Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet usage.
• Experience with Databases (iPHIS, Accuro/EMR, CCM).
• Ability to manage case and contact information effectively.
• Solid knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and public health services on the Infectious Disease Team within Health Protection.
• Apply IPAC practices and contribute to infection control programs.
• Coordinate and document activities using iPHIS, Accuro/EMR, CCM, and related databases.
• Work independently and as part of a team to support immunization and disease prevention initiatives.

We have an existing vacancy for a part-time temporary (0.8 FTE) PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE starting in November 2026 ending June 30, 2027 on the Infectious Disease Team in the Health Protection Department. The position will be based from our Stratford - West Gore office.

Education:

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing

Hours:

Usually 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; Monday to Friday (flexible may include evenings and weekends)
