Job summary

About the job

As part of the Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) team, you will provide essential psychological clinical services to children and families. Every day will be different, but you can expect to engage in activities like:

• Providing direct client services, including assessments, counseling, treatment recommendations, discharge planning, and case management.
• Preparing reports and developing specialized treatment programs for clients.
• Leading research, education, quality improvement, and program evaluation initiatives.
• Supervising the professional duties of psychometrists, students, and non-registered psychologists (supervised practice psychologists).
• Partnering with clinicians from other disciplines.
• Providing consultation and advice to the management team, community agencies, and other health care professionals.

What you bring to the team

Mandatory requirements

• you are a registered Psychologist in good standing in Ontario or are eligible (or will soon be eligible) for supervised practice in Ontario.

Specialized knowledge and experience:

You have:

• expertise in treatment, assessment, and diagnosis for children with complex behavioral and emotional difficulties.
• experience in counseling, training, and educational programming for children and parents managing complex behavioral problems.
• experience as a psychologist in a mental health/developmental services or related setting.

Communication and consultation skills:

• communicate assessment and treatment information.
• use clinical consultation skills to coordinate and interact with various community agencies and professionals.
• prepare clinical reports and compile research findings.
• maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, multidisciplinary teams and community agencies.

Analytical and organizational skills:

• plan, organize, and conduct research and evaluation studies.
• coordinate and supervise psychological services.
• develop, supervise, and evaluate treatment and educational programs.
