Join the Ministry of the Solicitor General's Health Services Division, Health Service Supports and Employee Wellness Branch, where you'll provide specialized clinical expertise and program expertise to a vital peer support program serving correctional employees. In this unique role, you will help strengthen a culture of psychological safety by advancing trauma-informed practices, supporting reflective learning, and enhancing the quality and effectiveness of peer support services through supporting corporate components of planning and program development. Reporting to the Unit Manager, you'll contribute to program development, training, risk management tools, and continuous improvement initiatives that support a healthy, resilient workforce.

About the job
In this role, you will:
- Provide clinical guidance and support to peer supporters and regional leads on complex and sensitive situations.
- Facilitate reflective practice sessions for staff and volunteers that promote resilience, well-being, and psychological safety.
- Lead the development of trauma-informed training, resources, and peer support practices.
- Support program improvement through research, evaluation, risk mitigation, and evidence-informed program and policy development.
- Ensure clinical practices align with confidentiality, ethical standards, and culturally safe approaches.
- Collaborate with healthcare, wellness, and operational partners to strengthen employee wellness and peer support services.
Note: This position will require travel within the province
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
- Registration in good standing with a regulated mental health profession (e.g., Social Work (Master of Social Work (MSW) minimum) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), or Psychology with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO)). Verification documentation must be provided upon request.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience providing trauma-informed mental health support in high-exposure or safety-sensitive environments, including corrections, first responder services, or healthcare settings.
Clinical Expertise and Trauma-Informed Practice
You have:
- Advanced knowledge of trauma-informed practice, mental health, stress injuries, grief, resilience, and employee wellness.
- Experience providing wellness-focused support in individual and/or group settings.
- Strong ability to facilitate reflective practice, supportive consultation, and resilience-building activities.
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and professional boundaries.
Program Development and Evaluation
You have:
- Senior Experience developing, implementing, and enhancing programs, standards, training, and resources and working in a corporate government context.
- Strong research, analytical, and evaluation skills, with the ability to assess outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
- Ability to interpret research and apply evidence-informed practices to program development and decision-making.
- Experience identifying emerging trends, risks, and opportunities to strengthen program effectiveness.Senior level policy and program development skills with experience working in government corporate contexts.
Leadership Skills
You have:
- Proven ability to provide clinical leadership, coaching, training, and mentorship to diverse teams.
- Experience providing expert consultation and recommendations on complex, sensitive, and high-risk situations.
- Ability to exercise sound professional judgment and make informed decisions independently.
- Skilled at supporting change, quality improvement, and program modernization initiatives.
- An understanding of government decision-making processes.
Communication and Relationship Management
You have:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
- Experience collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams and across organizational boundaries.
- Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and provide guidance on sensitive issues.

You have:
- Demonstrated ability to apply an equity-informed, culturally safe, and anti-oppressive lens to program development, training, and service delivery.
- Ability to foster inclusive, recovery-affirming, and psychologically safe environments.
