Come work as a Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
In accordance with the standards of practice and the established vision and values of Vancouver Coastal Health, the psychiatrist who accepts this position will evaluate, diagnose, and provide state-of-the-art adult outpatient treatment for patients aged 18 and up suffering from eating disorders and general psychiatric conditions at the Vancouver Coastal Health Eating Disorders Program. The service provides outpatient support and access to treatments for youth and adults with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and related eating disorders within a client and family-centered recovery model. The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide treatment services.
The psychiatrist will collaborate with other physicians, psychologists, nurses, registered clinical counselors, social workers, occupational therapists, patients, and their families to provide comprehensive clinical care. They will serve as a resource for mental health and addiction issues and symptom management, with a strong knowledge base in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. Participation in the training and education of other health professionals and active involvement in academic activities are expected. The psychiatrist should also have good knowledge of community resources.
Service Description: The psychiatrist will work within a cohesive outpatient team at the Joseph & Rosalie Segal Family Health Centre, providing initial assessments, consultations, medication reviews, referrals to group psychotherapy, and time-limited individual psychotherapy. Clinical excellence based on the best available evidence, with tailored treatments, is expected. Further questions should be directed to the medical manager.

Reporting Relationship: The psychiatrist reports to the Medical Director, Department of Psychiatry, Vancouver Community.
Compensation: The role involves a minimum of 2-5 half-days per week in a blended billing model (Sessional and Fee-for-service). Physicians are responsible for their own billings.
