Job summary

Senior Helpers Sarnia-Lambton is seeking a Personal Support Worker to help clients live safely and independently at home, delivering compassionate care and building trust with families.

You will assist with daily living activities, plan nutritious meals, and support clients to maintain a comfortable home environment, while communicating changes and collaborating with a caring team.

Qualifications

• Passion for providing care and support to others.
• Excellent communication and client-centered mindset.
• Availability for non-traditional hours.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Clear vulnerable sector check and background check.
• Experience in home care is an asset, but newcomers are welcome.

Responsibilities

What to Expect in Your Day-to-Day

As a Personal Support Worker, your work will include:

• Engaging in meaningful conversation and building genuine relationships with clients


• Assisting clients with daily living activities: mobility support, dressing, bathing, and personal hygiene


• Preparing nutritious meals and assisting with feeding or meal routines as needed


• Helping with light housekeeping tasks and supporting clients to maintain a comfortable home environment


• Observing and reporting on changes in clients’ physical, mental and behavioural health; completing documentation of care activities

Qualifications We’re Looking For

To be considered, you should have:

• A genuine passion for providing care and support to others


• Excellent communication skills and a client-centred mindset


• Availability to work non-traditional hours, such as early morning, evenings, and alternate weekends


• A valid driver’s license (G or G2 Classification), access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance


• To protect our patients, we require current vulnerable sector check screening, a clear background check


• Previous experience in home care or a PSW role is an asset (though we welcome motivated newcomers)
