Job summary

SarniaCareers is seeking compassionate PSWs to join our Seniors Living villages in Ontario. You will assist Residents with daily activities, provide companionship, and help with meals while maintaining clean, safe living spaces.

Strong communication with the care team is essential, as you will share Resident updates and support the team during themed days. Applicants should hold a PSW or HCA certification and have a Vulnerable Sector Screening completed within the past 6 months.

Qualifications

• PSW or HCA Certification required.
• VSS check completed within the past 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist Residents with activities of daily living.
• Provide companionship and engage Residents in activities.
• Complete Point-of-Care tasks for each Resident you support.
• Keep Resident areas clean and organized.
• Communicate Resident updates to the care team.
• Support team during themed days in the home.
• Assist Residents during meals and provide needed support.
• Support the team as needed.

Your feedback and input is used to improve our daily practices, and your energy goes a long way to putting smiles on our Residents' faces. If you were working for us as an PSW, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

• Assisted your Residents with activities of daily living
• Spending time and providing companionship to the Residents
• Completing your Point-of-Care tasks specific to each Resident you are supporting
• Helping keeping the Resident's area clean and clutter free
• Communicating a Resident update to your care team
• Supporting Team Members in the home during a themed day
• Help a Resident come down during mealtime and provide them any support needed through the meal
• And supported your team as needed.

Qualifications

To be hired into this role, you must have:

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) or Health Care Aide (HCA) Certification
• Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) check completed within the past 6 months
