Job summary

RhynoCare in St. Catharines, ON is seeking an experienced Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide care in long-term care facilities. You will be hired as an Independent Contractor.

You will observe changes, assist with ADLs, document, and collaborate with nursing staff while upholding safety policies. The position offers flexible scheduling and a supportive team focused on compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Proficient English communication, both verbal and written.
• Ability to speak a second language is considered an asset.
• Successful completion of a Ministry of Education approved PSW Training Program (min 640 hours) or RN/RPN Year 1 status.

Responsibilities

• Observe, document, and report changes in residents' status to support care planning.
• Complete documentation on time according to policies, ensuring accuracy.
• Assist with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, toileting, and feeding.
• Support safe transfers and mobility following facility policies.
• Provide care per Long-Term Care Act and best practices.
• Participate in risk management, quality improvement, and team meetings.
• Engage in mentoring and education opportunities for staff and students.
• Promote teamwork between shifts and staff.
