The self-employed person will live-in and provide personal care and general housekeeping for an 84-year-old veteran and his wife who are both in fair health and do not require constant attention. The person will have their own vehicle and reside in a suite in the client's home in Stittsville.
Primary Responsibilities
- Do general housekeeping as directed by the clients.
- Prepare meals for clients and self.
- Provide personal care with bathing.
- Drive clients to appointments and shopping.
Accommodation
- Spacious three-room furnished suite with 3-piece bath.
- Kitchenette with fridge, sink, microwave, and small appliances.
- Large screen TV with Bell Satellite and Netflix service.
- Off-street parking for vehicle.
- Person to provide their own internet and phone services.
- No pets or overnight guests permitted.
Qualifications
- An experienced, registered PSW or similar qualifications.
- Experienced cook.
- Bondable, including a police force check for insurance purposes.
- References to be provided.
- Hold a valid Ontario driver's license with Clean Driver Abstract.
- Proof of Covid-19 and Flu vaccinations.
- Preferably having a Vulnerable Sector Background Check.
- Able to communicate in English; non-smoker.
- Cheerful, outgoing person who enjoys helping others.
Compensation and Benefits
- Sign a contract for services.
- Payment at least $3000/month depending on qualifications and experience, plus mileage allowance when driving clients in own vehicle.
- Plenty of free time and evenings free after 7:00 PM.
- One day a week off as agreed with clients.
- Two weeks of unpaid vacation as agreed with clients.
