Job summary

Brandon University is seeking an Equipment/Instrument Assistant to support the Religion, Faculty of Arts department during a short-term employment period. The role involves moving equipment on and off campus and assisting with equipment setup and operation of related software and sound equipment.

The position targets Brandon University students (first-year acceptable) and offers limited hours from early November to December.

86.150: 2 positions x 5 hrs each; 86.202 2 positions x 4 hrs each

End Date of Employment: Dec. 10, 2026 Course title and number (if applicable): 86.150 and 86.202

Key Duties:

• Move equipment/instruments as required to locations on and off campus
• assist with assignment of equipment/instruments (operation of the computer (and some of its programs), as well as the sound equipment)
• other relevant duties as assigned

86.150 What is a Religion? -Up to a maximum of 5 hours for each of the two positions
86.202 Religion & Marginalization – Up to a maximum of 4 hours for each of the two positions

Qualifications/Experience:

Skillset:

• Little to no advanced skills or judgment
• Take direction, follow instruction and work under close supervision
• Ability to work independently and/or with others effectively
• Organized and detail oriented

Education:

• Preference given to current Brandon University student, first year undergraduate is acceptable

Experience:

• Previous experience an asset
• Familiarity with equipment/instruments, including proper use and maintenance
