Job summary

G2V Optics in Edmonton, Canada, is seeking a Level II Engineering Technologist to join the Infrastructure Engineering team. You will build prototypes, run tests, assemble fixtures, and document results to support product qualification and handoffs.

The role emphasizes internal tooling, measurement, and collaboration across electrical, mechanical, optical, and software disciplines, with occasional international travel.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in engineering technology; a bachelor’s degree is welcome but not required.
• Hands-on PCB prototyping, wiring, and test setups experience.
• Comfort with bench tools and instrumentation like multimeters and scopes.
• Methodical measurement and data collection approach.
• Strong written and verbal communication for documentation.
• Cross-disciplinary grounding with willingness to learn.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 2 trips per year.

Responsibilities

• Communication & Hand-offs: produce clear handoff packages and track progress.
• Prototype Building: assemble prototypes, fixtures, and test setups; document and version control.
• Engineering Testing & Data Collection: execute tests, collect data, and flag anomalies.
• Continuous Learning: acquire new skills and mentor others; adopt AI tools as appropriate.
