Job summary

Save-On-Foods is hiring a Protective Services Guard to safeguard our Lower Mainland locations. This role requires regular commuting across Surrey, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam.

You will identify theft, maintain safety, conduct audits, and document clear reports while upholding company policies and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• BC Security Worker Licence with Security Guard endorsement is required.
• Strong decision-making under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a protective services role.

We are hiring a Protective Services Guard for our locations in Lower Mainland, BC.

This position requires commuting to multiple locations within Surrey, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, and Port Coquitlam on a regular basis.

You will be responsible for:

• Identifying theft, mischief, and fraud.
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and staff.
• Observing, meeting and greeting customers.
• Approaching situations with a customer-first mindset.
• Maintaining a professional demeanor when dealing with the public, staff, and law enforcement agencies.
• Conducting security audits of the building and assets.
• Performing arrests, ask to pays, and product recoveries.
• Adhering to all company policies and procedures.
• Documenting all evidence and typing clear and concise reports as required.

You have:

• A valid BC Security Worker’s Licence with Security Guard endorsement.
• Solid decision-making skills with the ability to make quick decisions under difficult circumstances.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Integrity, enthusiasm, and willingness to Go the Extra Mile.
• Valid Advanced Security Training/AST (considered an asset).
• Fluency in a second language (considered an asset).
• Open availability (considered an asset).

Compensation Details:

$20.00 - $26.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
