Job description

Protech Automotive Solutions and its affiliated brands is looking for highly talented, dedicated and quality-focused teammates to provide top tier service to our customers.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Certification
  • Deliver installation training and certification curriculum in the field across all certification levels, using the standards, materials, and delivery model established by the Mobile Installation Partnerships Training Team.
  • Conduct hands-on certification assessments and skills evaluations, verifying that technicians can install to Protech quality, safety, and customer-experience standards before they are released to work independently.
  • Certify Protech's existing ADAS and ADM technicians into the mobile installation program, and onboard and certify new installation technician talent as the segment scales.
  • Document assessment results, certification status, and recertification activity accurately and on time in the LMS and related tracking tools.
  • Deliver re-certification and refresher training as hardware, vehicle platforms, and installation procedures change.
Field Coaching & Quality Support
  • Provide on-site coaching and side-by-side support to technicians and installation partners during live installs, correcting practices in the moment and reinforcing standard procedures.
  • Observe installs across the full range of fleet vehicles—passenger vehicles, tractor trailers, heavy equipment, and specialty platforms—and identify skill gaps, recurring errors, and safety concerns.
  • Escalate quality trends, procedural gaps, and content inaccuracies to the training team, and support corrective training where field performance indicates a need.
  • Support new-market and new-partner launches by conducting initial trial installs and delivering the training required to have a certified, ready workforce in place ahead of demand.
Content Support & Field Procedure Capture
  • Capture field procedures during new installs to include proper wire routing, hardware/sensor/ camera mounting locations, and vehicle-specific variations and submit source material to the Training Team for inclusion in installation job aids and SOPs.
  • Pilot and provide feedback on new job aids, quick-reference guides, and training content before final release.
  • Help maintain consistency of delivery across markets and partners by using the current, version-controlled versions of all training materials.
Partnership & General
  • Serve as a day-to-day training point of contact for installation partners and technicians in assigned markets.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and technical excellence within the mobile installation workforce.
  • Execute special projects and other duties as assigned by the Training Manager and Operations leadership.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or technical school graduate; associate degree in automotive technology, heavy equipment technology, education, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in vehicle or equipment installation, service, or technical fields, including exposure to the heavy equipment space (e.g., tractor trailers, off-highway, construction, or fleet heavy vehicles) in addition to automotive/light-vehicle work.
  • Background in advanced vehicle diagnostics, telematics, or electronic/aftermarket hardware installation strongly preferred.
  • Experience training, mentoring, or coaching technicians, whether formally as a trainer or informally as a lead technician; experience delivering structured curriculum is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, both in person and virtually, with the ability to adapt instruction to varying experience levels.
  • Comfortable working hands-on at installation sites and able to travel an estimated 50–60% within all installation markets.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related programs
  • ASE, I-CAR, OEM, or relevant equipment/installation certifications preferred and must be maintained where applicable.
  • MECP (Mobile Electronics Certified Professional) certification is a preferred but not required. Candidates holding MECP certification at any level (Basic, Advanced, or Master Installer) will be given preference, and non-certified hires may be supported in pursuing it.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to pass an MVR check.
