Job summary

Fix Network is seeking a Technical Trainer to design, develop, and deliver technical training across our network. You will promote best practices in collision repair, ADAS, EVs, OEM standards, and emerging technologies while coordinating learning materials and sessions.

The role requires 5+ years in collision repair, training experience, and I-CAR/OEM familiarity. You will collaborate with leadership to optimize training calendars, budgets, and outcomes while supporting franchisees and staff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of collision repair industry experience.
  • Significant experience as a collision repair tech, estimator, or shop manager.
  • I-CAR Platinum certification or equivalent is an asset.
  • Experience in training, coaching, or knowledge transfer is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Training Director to develop training strategies across the network.
  • Conduct training needs analyses to identify skills to be developed.
  • Design and maintain engaging training content and materials.
  • Deliver training in classrooms, workshops, online, and one-on-one coaching.
  • Adapt methods to different learning styles and audiences.
  • Ensure training records are accurate and up to date.
  • Assess knowledge through exams and practical assessments.
  • Provide recommendations to improve training programs.
  • Promote I-CAR and OEM standards across the network.
  • Monitor certification pathways for franchisees and employees.
  • Work with Operations to align training with business needs.
  • Participate in industry events and corporate activities.
  • Stay current with automotive tech and market trends.
  • Assist in budgeting for training activities.

Job description

As a Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging technical training programs that support the continuous development of our network. You will help transfer knowledge and promote best practices related to collision repair, emerging automotive technologies, and evolving industry requirements.

You will contribute to identifying training needs, developing engaging learning materials, coordinating training activities, and evaluating results to ensure an effective and lasting learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Training Director and Training Coordinator to develop and implement training strategies across the network.
  • Conduct training needs analyses to identify skills and competencies to be developed within the network.
  • Design, develop, and maintain engaging training content, participant guides, presentations, and reference materials.
  • Deliver training in classrooms, workshops, online environments, and through one‑on‑one coaching.
  • Adapt teaching and facilitation methods to different learning styles and audiences.
  • Ensure training records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Assess participants’ knowledge and skills through examinations, practical assessments, and validation activities.
  • Provide recommendations to support the continuous improvement of training programs.
  • Promote industry best practices and recognised standards, including I‑CAR and OEM standards.
  • Monitor certifications and development pathways for franchisees and employees across the network.
  • Work closely with Operations teams to ensure training initiatives are aligned with business needs and priorities.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, career fairs, and other corporate or networking activities.
  • Stay current with emerging automotive technologies, ADAS systems, electric vehicles, repair procedures, and market trends.
  • Contribute to the management of the training calendar and monitor registrations.
  • Participate in the development and tracking of training‑related budgets.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the collision repair industry.
  • Significant experience as a collision repair technician, estimator, technical specialist, or shop manager.
  • I‑CAR Platinum certification or equivalent certification is an asset.
  • Experience in training, coaching, or knowledge transfer is an asset.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
  • In‑depth knowledge of collision repair processes and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of ADAS systems, electric vehicles, and emerging automotive technologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent presentation and group facilitation skills.
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of OEM requirements and procedures.
