Job summary

Survalent is seeking a Proposals Engineer in Mississauga to develop clear, competitive technical proposals and collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Finance, and other teams. You will translate complex customer requirements into persuasive content, support solution design, and manage proposal timelines.

The role requires a strong engineering background, 5+ years of proposal experience in a technical setting, and proficiency with Word/Excel; Visio and MS Project are assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of proposal experience in a technical role.
• Systems knowledge in SCADA, automation, control systems, or IT is an asset.
• Strong technical and proposal writing skills to translate requirements into content.
• Proficiency with MS Word/Excel; Visio and MS Project are assets.
• Excellent attention to detail for RFP/RFQ review and cost breakdowns.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with internal teams and customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop proposals: Review RFPs/RFQs and prepare clear, accurate, and competitive technical and commercial proposals.
• Collaborate across teams: Work closely with Sales, Project Management, Finance, and other teams to gather technical, financial, and project information.
• Support customer solutions: Partner with Sales to develop solutions that meet customer requirements while considering project scope, services, software, and costs.
• Manage proposal activities: Track quotations and proposals, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure submissions meet required timelines and company standards.
• Support continuous improvement: Share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices to help improve proposal processes and quality.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of proposal experience in application engineering or a similar technical role.
• Systems knowledge in SCADA, automation, control systems, or the IT industry is an asset.
• Strong technical and proposal writing skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear and persuasive content.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Visio and Microsoft Project is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing RFP/RFQ requirements, cost breakdowns, proposal formatting, and wording.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while collaborating effectively with customers and internal teams
• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
