Job summary

Survalent is seeking a Proposal Specialist for a full-time hybrid role in Mississauga, Ontario. You will develop clear, compelling technical and commercial proposals by reviewing RFPs/RFQs and coordinating with Sales, Project Management, Finance, and other teams.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least five years of proposal experience in a technical setting, with strong writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of proposal experience in application engineering or similar technical role.
• Experience with SCADA / automation / control systems is an asset.
• Strong technical and proposal writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; Visio and MS Project are an asset.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop proposals: Review RFPs/RFQs and prepare clear, accurate, and competitive technical and commercial proposals.
• Collaborate across teams: Work closely with Sales, Project Management, Finance, and other teams to gather technical, financial, and project information.
• Support customer solutions: Partner with Sales to develop solutions that meet customer requirements while considering project scope, services, software, and costs.
• Manage proposal activities: Track quotations and proposals, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure submissions meet required timelines and company standards.
• Support continuous improvement: Share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices to help improve proposal processes and quality.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of proposal experience in application engineering or a similar technical role.
• Systems knowledge in SCADA, automation, control systems, or the IT industry is an asset.
• Strong technical and proposal writing skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear and persuasive content.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Visio and Microsoft Project is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing RFP/RFQ requirements, cost breakdowns, proposal formatting, and wording.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while collaborating effectively with customers and internal teams
• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
