Job Title: Property Tax Administrator – Property Tax Department

Reports To: Senior Manager, Property Taxation

Department: Property Taxation

Position Summary

The Property Tax Administrator is responsible for processing property tax payments and managing related documentation for a portfolio of projects across Canada.

Responsibilities:
  1. Process property tax payments promptly using the internal accounting system (Yardi).
  2. Review property tax invoices, identify interest or penalty charges, and investigate issues for resolution.
  3. Track invoices to ensure timely payments.
  4. Assist in preparing and maintaining property tax department databases.
  5. Contact municipalities to obtain additional documentation and information as needed.
  6. Maintain departmental records, including scanning, filing, and documenting annual assessment changes, and notify relevant personnel.
  7. Take meeting minutes upon request.
  8. Handle mail sorting and distribution.
  9. Perform any special assignments as required.
Academic/Professional Requirements:
  • University Degree or College Diploma.
  • Public Administration Diploma preferred.
Skills and Experience:
  • Strong oral, written, and arithmetic communication skills.
  • 1-3 years of administrative experience.
  • Proficiency with Yardi software.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Good Internet and email skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and attentive to deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of internal processes.
  • Self-motivated and challenge-oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Training will be provided.
