The Property Manager provides essential hands-on leadership in a residential property. With the direction and support of a District Manager, the Property Manager is responsible for overall property performance by maximizing profitability and maintaining corporate standards within established operational and budgetary objectives.

The Opportunity

Realstar is a leading residential property management company with over 160 properties across Canada. Our properties are clean, quiet, and attract quality residents who will attest to our standards of service. Assistant Property Managers play a vital role in the successful operation of a residential rental building under our management.

Key Responsibilities Of Property Managers

• Perform monthly market research and stay informed about current competition and market conditions.
• Recommend rental rates to the District Manager for available units and lease renewals.
• Address resident inquiries and issues within 24 hours.
• Interview candidates and provide hiring recommendations to the District Manager.
• Provide initial and ongoing training to staff.
• Establish and monitor staff work schedules in accordance with company guidelines, especially during high turnover periods.
• Manage staff, including conflict resolution.
• Contribute to annual budgets, operational, and capital plans.
• Show and rent vacant units to prospective residents.
• Ensure timely rent collection and deposits.
• Oversee building maintenance systems.

Requirements Of Property Managers

• Experience in residential property management or relevant professional experience (office administration, property improvements, operation management).
• Excellent customer service and sales skills.
• Strong communication skills with residents, clients, colleagues, and third parties.
• Management skills to support, train, and motivate staff and foster collaboration.
• Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
• Basic computer skills.
