Job summary

Desjardins Group is seeking a Property Field Appraisal professional to support claim resolution by analyzing damages, coordinating with suppliers, and advising on remediation strategies. The role includes guiding action plans, improving processes, and coaching contractor networks across Kingston and Ottawa.

The ideal candidate has a related bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant experience, plus proficiency in Xactimate and remediation disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of Xactimate software.
• Intermediate knowledge of Mold and/or Asbestos remediation.
• Intermediate knowledge of Fire, smoke & odor damages remediation.
• Intermediate knowledge of Residential structure knowledge.
• Intermediate knowledge of Structural Building Drying and cleaning.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Available for travel within Kingston/Ottawa and surrounding areas.
• Business insight, collaboration, complexity, decision quality, equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Define the extent of damages or analyze and control estimates from suppliers and suggest improvements according to standards.
• Analyze incident circumstances to gather decisive information for investigation progress.
• Prepare and propose action plans to correct situations per guidelines and rules.
• Suggest improvements to processes, methods and tools.
• Provide coaching for our preferred contractors network.
• Provide opinion on complex construction issues.
• Find alternative solutions or more efficient repair methods.
• Be on-duty to provide emergency instruction to our restoration network.
• Ensure respect of estimation guidelines and cost control.

Job description

As Property Field Appraisal, you assist with appraisal and investigative activities as part of the claim resolution process More specifically, you will be required to:

• Define the extent of damages or analyze and control estimates received from suppliers, recommend ways of doing things in accordance with quality standards and company procedures
• Analyze the circumstances of the incident in order to gather as much relevant information as may be decisive in the progress of the investigation
• Participate in the preparation and proposal of action plans likely to promote the correction of situations encountered, in accordance with guidelines and generally recognized rules
• Suggest improvements to processes, methods and tools
• Provide coaching for our preferred contractors network
• Provide opinion on complex construction issue
• Find alternative solutions or different/more efficient repair methods
• Be on-duty to provide emergency instruction to our preferred restoration network at times
• Ensure the respect of our estimation guidelines and the cost control
