Job summary

The Crawford Group is seeking a Property Claims Adjuster to join our Thunder Bay team. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle commercial lines claims by telephone and correspondence, directing field adjusters as needed and ensuring accurate recording and reporting of files.

Regular travel to loss locations throughout the Thunder Bay territory is expected. The ideal candidate has 2 years in insurance claims, post-secondary education in insurance, and strong knowledge of CMS; CIP is

Qualifications

• 2 years of technical experience in insurance claims.
• Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field.
• Full license and CIP designation is preferred.
• Ability to conduct telephone investigations, evaluate, negotiate and settle commercial lines claims.
• Proficient in CMS and maintaining accurate activity, transaction and reserve records.
• Excellent communication skills and a team player.

## Job DescriptionWe are currently recruiting for a **Property Claims Adjuster** to join our team in **Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada**. The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle commercial lines claims by telephone and correspondence. The candidate will direct field adjusters on a task basis. The candidate will participate in ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files. Regular travel to loss locations throughout the Thunder Bay territory is expected.## Responsibilities* Interviewing claimants and witnesses* Obtaining official documents* Comparing claims information with evidence* Determination of liability* Makes offer to claimants* Issue cheque* Dispose of salvage* Pursue subrogation* Accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files, including presentation of evidence at legal proceedings* Maintenance of accurate billing, and time and expense records* Work with manager to maintain client relations## Qualifications* 2 years of technical experience in an insurance claims environment, with strong knowledge of property claims is required.
