Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking a Property Claims Adjuster in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The role involves investigating, evaluating, negotiating and settling commercial lines claims by telephone and correspondence, and directing field adjusters on tasks.

Travel across the Thunder Bay territory is expected. You will contribute to accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files and support client relations with strong service standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years of technical experience in an insurance claims environment
• Post-secondary education in an insurance related field
• Full license and CIP designation is preferred
• Ability to conduct telephone investigations, evaluate, negotiate and settle first and third party commercial lines claims
• Proficient in CMS, including maintaining accurate and detailed activity, transaction and reserve records
• Advanced computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Must be a team player with a strong commitment to quality and customer service

We are currently recruiting for a Property Claims Adjuster to join our team in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle commercial lines claims by telephone and correspondence. The candidate will direct field adjusters on a task basis. The candidate will participate in ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files. Regular travel to loss locations throughout the Thunder Bay territory is expected.

Salary range is $47,000 to 71,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing claimants and witnesses
• Obtaining official documents
• Comparing claims information with evidence
• Determination of liability
• Makes offer to claimants
• Issue cheque
• Dispose of salvage
• Pursue subrogation
• Accurate recording, reporting and presentation of files, including presentation of evidence at legal proceedings
• Maintenance of accurate billing, and time and expense records
• Work with manager to maintain client relations

Qualifications
